We are looking to expand our small accounts team with a Management Account. About CPH2

Clean Power Hydrogen plc (CPH2) is a leading developer of Membrane-Free Electrolysers™ designed to produce green hydrogen and pure oxygen in a simple, safe, sustainable manner and at any scale. Dr. Nigel Williamson and Joe Scott established CPH2 (Ireland) in December 2012 with the ambition to help clean up the environment for our children and future generations. Entering the green technology sector, a high growth, and profitable market, they developed a Membrane-Free Electrolyser™ to produce hydrogen faster, more reliably, and more cost-effectively than PEM technology, which has barriers to adoption, including cost, reliability, and scalability.

About the role:

Reporting to, and working closely with, the Financial Controller you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts and providing financial analysis and support to operations, engineering, and R&D staff.  You will be expected to identify, recommend, and implement improvements to systems, procedures, and controls.

Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities are set out below but with this being a new role this can be adapted to suit an individual’s skills and/or their aspirations.

Reporting

  • >  Prepare monthly management accounts in line with agreed deadlines.
  • >  Review accruals and prepayments and post appropriate journals.
  • >  Review the balance sheet monthly and ensure reconciliations for control accounts are completed.
  • >  Review and report on variances against budget.
  • >  Prepare monthly cost reports for department managers and conduct reviews to ensure all variances are fully understood and explained.

Planning

  • >  Manage project budgets in conjunction with project managers and ensure the “cost to complete” for all projects are maintained and updated with latest information.
  • >  Assist department managers with the preparation and presentation of information to appraise potential capital investment opportunities.

Forecasting

  • >  Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and update forecasts as required.
  • >  Assist in the preparation of monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • >  Review performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • >  Liaise with Senior Managers regarding future plans to ensure these are reflected in all forecasts.

Future Initiatives and Projects

  • >  Assist with the implementation of system improvements.
  • >  Identify and propose improvements to systems and processes.
  • >  Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.

Other

  • >  Support other members of the accounts team and cover some duties during holidays and other absences.
  • >  Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors and other external professional advisors as required.
  • >  Assist with treasury activities as required.

 

Key skills and experience required:

  • >  AAT qualification or part qualification of CIMA or ACCA
  • >  An intention to continue development to full CIMA/ACCA qualification
  • >  Experience of working in an accounts environment with basic book-keeping skills
  • >  Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be preferable
  • >  Good Excel skills including the use of complex formulas
  • >  Use of accounting software (ideally Sage 200 but not essential)
  • >  Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • >  Good verbal and written communication skills

Start date is as soon as possible

Salary:

Salary range is £30 - £34k and will be negotiated depending on qualifications, experience, and skills.
