Membrane-free electrolysis shown to lower the cost of hydrogen production
CPH2 has launched its white paper on the benefits and advantages of its Membrane-free technology versus legacy Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) and Alkaline (AEL) electrolysers.
Chief Technical Officer, Paul Cassidy explains how the patented and proven CPH2 technology has advantages shown in recent and independently verified customer test results. It explores the reasons for performance differences, the polarisation curve and the constraints of a membrane approach. The paper shows how CPH2 technology has been shown to improve levelised costs versus older systems and is able to follow the variable load of wind of solar power, with limited loss of efficiency, and still deliver high purity hydrogen and oxygen.
Cryogenic Separation and Mixed Gas Safety are important factors that are explored in detail. Richard Scott, Chief Commercial Officer, explores how the data shows these Membrane-free electrolysers are best suited to mission critical operations, including reliable water supply, Biomass plant efficiency, electricity grid support and renewable asset enhancement, data centre uptime, and life sciences and medical uses.
